I am the Head of IT at an architectural practice, as well as a blogger, author and public speaker on cloud and security issues, with over 20 years’ corporate experience. As an early adopter of cloud systems, including BPOS, the first iteration of Office 365, I’ve been bug testing them ever since. Security bugs that aren’t fixed end up becoming magazine articles in an attempt to get the vendor to take notice.
I started blogging in 2012 on free IT resources (http://nick-ioannou.com) currently with over 450+ posts. Author of Internet Security Fundamentals and contributing author of Conquer The Web and two Managing Cybersecurity Risk books for Legend Business Books.
I also started a security consultancy booleanlogical.com back in 2011 after the recession as a plan B, which now offers free security resources and speak at major IT events from a small business perspective.
Why you wrote my book
The book is a mixture and evolution of my Cybersecurity 101 talks from multiple IT events, condensed into 12,000-words of practical advice to address the security gaps that many small businesses don’t realise they have. The aim is to act like a pocket cyber security consultant, helping you build a layered cyber security strategy using a mixture of free and paid for services for around the cost of a latte a week per person.
